Lord of Citadel

Castles made of stones, bricks and cement
cast upon the blooming green patch
a shade of high order, a touch of might
drifting as the fluttering flag, high as a kite

Trumpets blew, armies screamed
animals roared, blood and sweat
seeped in the soil from castle above
men born in the heights of castle
are laid
in the depths of earth
so deep and below

Sand and rain now sweeps it’s halls
blown candlesticks, rusted silverware
stones fall, wood cracks, castle crumbles
structure gave up it’s king to entropy
silence rules the nightfall and day
Is the lion in banner dead ?
or did the rain sweep the cat cold ?
